GRANE TRANSPORTATION LINES, LTD. was presented with Grainger's prestigious Partners in Performance Award for 2007 at its Partners in Performance Supplier Conference held March 18, 2008 in Schaumburg, Illinois. Grainger, the leading broad line supplier of facilities maintenance products serving businesses and institutions throughout North America, presents the award annually to a select group of suppliers with outstanding performance throughout the year.

The following was announced at the Partner in Performance Conference:

Grane Transportation received outstanding marks for on-time pick up and delivery for: Inbound Truckload and LTL operation of Grainger's Chicago Cross Dock; DC to Branch replenishment, break bulk and late night unattended delivery, and Hub Branch to Spoke Branch multiple day deliveries in dedicated, branded vehicles.

Grane exemplifies a Partner in Performance because of a willingness to share their innovate approach to cross docking with other logistics companies operating new cross docks for Grainger. This process was instrumental in a successful start for the Cleveland and Memphis cross docks in 2007.

Grane's approach to emergency requests made it possible for Grainger to keep pace with the rapidly changing supplier shipment demands in 2007. During the flooding in Chicago this fall, Grane worked with Grainger on Saturday to fulfill Red Cross orders, donating labor and equipment.

Out of more than 6,800 pick ups for Grainger in 2007, they had performance issues only 17 times! A 99.75% on time score! In fact, twice in 2007 they performed more than 500 pickups in a month without a single delay!
